Carl Albero - President and Managing Partner of CMA & Associates, LLC
Carl M. Albero is currently the President and Managing Partner of CMA & Associates, LLC, a management consulting company which he founded in 2006, providing solutions to challenges encountered in such areas as strategic planning, competitive benchmarking, sourcing, pricing, marketing, contract administration, human resources and mergers and acquisitions. Carl also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for Colonna’s Shipyard and is on the Board of Trustees for Saint Mary’s Home for Disabled Children. In addition, he serves on Advisory Boards for ADS, Linxx Security, Knowledge Information Solutions and the Town Point Club.
Carl was the President and Chief Executive Officer of American Systems Engineering Corporation (AMSEC), LLC, a partnership between SAIC and Northrop Grumman Newport News (NGNN) formed in 1999. Combining the integrated logistics support and life cycle planning of NGNN with the ship systems engineering and technical services of SAIC/AMSEC, the forging of the AMSEC, LLC allowed for the first time an offering of full spectrum life cycle support to all classes of US Navy Warships - aircraft carriers, submarines, surface combatants, amphibious and auxiliary. Under Carl’s leadership, AMSEC, LLC grew from $125 M in revenue in 1999 to $470 M in 2004.
Carl negotiated the sale of AMSEC to SAIC in 1987, agreeing to remain as the Chief Executive Officer of its first wholly owned subsidiary. In that capacity, Carl led AMSEC to $75 M in revenue through a combination of organic growth with traditional clients and a series of acquisitions targeted at a dramatic increase in core offerings.
Carl graduated from Lafayette University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. Commissioned as Ensign upon graduation, he joined the Navy’s Engineering Duty Only (EDO) Community, which was focused on construction/overhaul of new vessels and propulsion plant operation for existing vessels. The highlight of Carl’s Naval Career was his selection as the Chief Engineering Officer aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67), which won two consecutive Engineering “E” Excellence Awards as the best plant it its class. He retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of Captain. Carl received a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from George Washington University.
