Mike McGuire
Mr McGuire is a retired Naval Officer with over 28 years of service in Naval Special Warfare leadership positions. He is a combat veteran with extensive experience in operational planning and management of education and training programs.
During his last active duty assignment he was the Director of Joint Operations Department at Joint Special Operations University (JSOU), where he managed the planning and execution of 52 academic courses and 42 tailored seminars in residence and off-station. Previously, Mr McGuire was the Deputy Director of Plans, Policy and Doctrine for Special Operations Command, Pacific. He also served as Chief of Special Programs Branch, STO Chief and Focal Point Control Systems Officer. He was responsible for integrating Special Operations Forces into national and theater operational plans. Prior to his assignment to Pacific Command he served as the Executive Officer of Special Boat Unit TWENTY where he managed 14 departments, 16 deploying detachments, 45 combatant craft, and over 300 personnel.
Following his military retirement, Mr. McGuire served as the Program Manager of Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) training for the Center for Anti-terrorism and Navy Security Forces. While there he oversaw curriculum, planning, reporting, scheduling and policy-level support for Non-Compliant VBSS, Boarding Officer and Mechanical Breacher courses.
Mr. McGuire holds a M.A. in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a B.A. in Behavioral Science from National University. He completed the Intermediate Systems Acquisition Course ACQ 201B, as well as the Armed Forces Staff College.
